Script
OPENING
01 slow pan MCU workshop wall
Many papers are pinned on the wall. The first one is a world map, on which there are high-lighted routes from continents to continents. Beside there is a schedule with a title of “Plan of traveling around the world”.
Little girl's room
02 slow pan MCU workshop wall
The wall is pink color, indicating that it's in a girl's room. On the wall, there are similar maps and sketches.
Little boy's room
03 slow pan MCU workshop wall
Next are sketches of birds, planes, UFOs and all kinds of flying machines, with physics symbols and mathematic formulas. And finally it is a finished sketch of a well-designed flying machine, with the tile of the film “The flying machine” above the drawing on the paper.
The sketch fades out.
Cliff
04 eye level LS flying machine
As the sketch fades out, a finished flying machine fades in.
It is on top of a flat and open cliff facing the sky. It is morning; the sky is clear and blue.
05 eye level MCU little boy
A little boy sits in the seat of the flying machine, looking forwards with a confident smile on his face. Camera trucks from his ride side to front. He pulls down his goggles to cover his eyes, and raises his left hand to reach a button.
06 CU boy’s finger
He presses a green button; all the lights on his cockpit are turned on. With a signal flashing on the navigator screen, the engine starts.
07 MS flying machine
The engine runs with huge sound and the flying machine is vibrating strongly.
08 high LS flying machine
The flying machine starts to glide on the cliff. It goes faster and faster towards the edge.
09 MS flying machine screen
Suddenly, "error" message appears on his screen, a red warning light turns on.
10 eye level EWS
The flying machine takes off the cliff and gets farther away from the camera. But suddenly it has a small explosion, smokes come out.
11 eye level EWS
Next it begins to soar back to the cliff with one side leaning. It dives closer and closer towards the camera.
12 low LS
It passes the top of the camera crashes on the cliff.
13 eye level LS
The little boy is thrown out of the seat to the ground. He fell facing down and his forehead lands first.
He struggles to stand up. He feels painful and rubs his forehead. But suddenly something strange flies to him and knocks his head. He falls down again.
14 OS little boy
On the ground he keeps rubbing his head. Suddenly he feels a piece of shadow is moving towards him.
15 OTS little boy
He looks up, only shocked to see that another flying machine is diving towards him.
16 MCU little girl
A panicked looking little girl is driving that vehicle.
17 CU little boy
He stands still and wide opens his eyes and mouth. He’s so shocked that he doesn’t know what to do.
18 CU little girl
It is apparently out of her control. She can’t do anything but yell “look out” to the little boy.
19 ECU little boy
In his eyes, the reflection of the flying machine is getting larger and larger. Even the facial expression of the little girl is so clear.
20 ECU little girl
As her vehicle is approaching the little boy, she opens her mouth wider and screams louder. In her eyes the reflection of the little boy is so clear that we even see his shocked look.
21 WS sky
With a huge noise, sky and ground both shake heavily. Small parts of the machine keep flying cross the screen. Smokes come out and gradually cover the whole screen. The noises of things colliding are still going on.
SMOKES GO AWAY. IT BEGINS TO QUIET DOWN.
22 ECU little boy
His eyes are closed. A few seconds later, he slowly opens his eyes. But now he looks even more surprised.
23 CU little boy and little girl
He finds out that the little girl fell on him and they accidently kissed. All at once the little girl opens her eyes and realizes the same. Camera zooms out. They immediately move their heads away and look up in the air to pretend that nothing has happened.
24 eye level MS
They immediately move their heads away and look up in theair to pretend that nothing has happened.
25 eye level MS
They look around and see their vehicles are both damaged in the crash.
26 eye level MS
With sad and disappointed expressions, they looked at each other again. Suddenly, a flash of wit appear in their eyes. They show their maps and sketches to each other and find out that they are both planning to travel around the world. Thus they decide to fulfill their goals together.
Everything fades out.
A FEW DAYS LATER, AT DUSK, ON THE SAME CLIFF
27 eye level LS
A brand new flying machine has just started its engine and is vibrating on the ground. Camera trucks from one side of the machine to front to show its overall look.
28 MCU little boy and little girl
They are sitting in the new flying machine hand in hand, with happiness on their faces.
29 high LS
The vehicle begins to glide.
30 high LS
It soon takes off the cliff and soars in the sky. Below it, the sea sparkles in the golden sunlight.
31 eye level LS
The romantic color of the sky is mixed with golden and rose. The flying machine soars higher and higher towards the setting sun, and finally disappears in the bright glare.

Treatment
~Descriptions of Mood/Atmosphere~
It is a heart-warming and upward story about love, friendship,cooperation, passion and dream. In the story, two kids met each other unexpectedly and went on a journey around the world. They met on a beautiful cliff by the ocean on a sunny day, when the sky was bright and clear. In the end when they drove a flying machine to discover the world together, the background was the sky mixed with golden and rose,which creates a romantic atmosphere.
~Subtext~
I’m always interested in encouraging and positive themes that have simple philosophy but are thought-provoking. In this story I try to tell people that love and union are great strength.~Art Direction~
Story Outline
The Flying Machine
A little boy wants to travel around the world in a flying machine designed and built all by himself. One day he finally finished it and immediately started his journey on a wide field. However, just a few seconds after the flying machine took off, it suddenly dropped down and threw the boy out of the seat. He fell to the ground facing down. It took him a while to get up, but as soon as he raised up his face, something fell on his head and knocked him down again. He looked to the direction where the strange thing came from, only shocked to see that another flying machine was diving towards him. A little girl was driving that machine and yelling"look out" to him.With a huge noice, the machine crashed and the girl fell on to the boy. They accidently kissed. Immediately, they stood up and looked at each other with shy smiles on their faces.
Days later, on the same field, a much larger flying machine combining both of their designs took off. The boy and the girl were riding on it and flying towards the beautiful sunset.They went on the journey together and traveled all around the world.
